The New Zodiac · 02
Thirteen constellations
The Sun’s path crosses thirteen unequal regions of the physical sky.
Unequal boundaries
The International Astronomical Union defines constellations as bounded regions. Along the ecliptic, these regions vary greatly in width, so the Sun spends different amounts of time in each one.
Ophiuchus restored
Between Scorpius and Sagittarius, the ecliptic passes through Ophiuchus, the Serpent Bearer. It returns naturally when the zodiac is based on the Sun’s measured position rather than twelve equal calendar sectors.
Position before interpretation
Constellation membership is an astronomical calculation. Personality language remains interpretive, and Real-Sky keeps that distinction visible.
